Put it in a dark hallway near an exit for optimal emergency use.
Small. enough to share power outlets
At just 4 inches long, you can place the Blackout Buddy just about anywhere. With only 2 power prongs, you only need one power outlet and the Blackout Buddy is small enough to leave the other outlet open for use with other electronics.
Works as a flashlight too
If you charge the Blackout Buddy for 3 hours, you can use it as a flashlight for up to 2 hours. It fits comfortably in your hand and will light anywhere you need, making it even more optimal for blackouts and other emergency situations. The power outlet prongs simply fold into the Blackout Buddy for a relaxed fit in your hand.
Crank up the Clipray
Crank for one minute and produce enough power for 10 minutes of light, no batteries needed. Crank again and use a standard USB port to charge your smartphone. Great for emergency kits or outdoor adventures.

I would rate these a 10 out of 10 if I could. We had a power outage on Christmas eve, so I pulled out one of these (I bought them for my earthquake kit) pulled off the tab and dunked it in water. It lit up and was bright enough for me to pee without missing (okay, TMI). I left it in the bathroom and kept watching it to see when it died so I’d know the real life time (the ads say 72 hours, but you know how advertising goes…) Well, here we are ten days later, and the darned thing is still lit up. Dimmer than before, but I dunked it again tonight and it got brighter again (though still not as bright as when it was new). I highly recommend these for anyone that needs an emergency kit for any reason. I just bought two more packs of them.(As an aside, in reading the other reviews, I’m confused. This item doesn’t plug in so I’m not sure what product all those reviews are referencing).Edit: We are now at January 11, and this thing is still going.

Tiempo de entrega rápido, el tamaño es menor a lo imaginado, sin embargo, funcional y propio para emergencias. Buena iluminación. Sólo hay que considerar que son de un solo uso. Considerando precio, cantidad y uso, buena compra.

A little bit of water goes a long way. Could not wait until I get them. As soon as they came in I tested them out. They really do last a very long time with very little water. It is amazing how these things work. Should got these sooner. I am so getting more to share and keep around the whole house.

El producto es muy bueno, ya que funciona a base de agua. Es práctico y sencillo. Lo único que le haría falta es un switch para apagarlo cuando ya no se quiera usar.
Mike –
Great survival go-bag idea. It’s a shame it’s a one use product but for emergency purposes and given the size (1/3 pack of cigs) it’s easy to store.

I think I watch too many apocalyptic movies and shows because I’m always looking for worthwhile emergency supplies. I love this light set. I have a flashlight/ nightlight ready when the power goes out. I also have a hand crank flashlight when my regular flashlight’s batteries die (which recently happened). I plan on buying another set or the light that includes phone charging capability.

I bought this as a present for my husband since he loves camping. We ended up using it when we went to enchanted rock and that thing stayed on for DAYS it’s pretty bright for being such a tiny thing. I eventually had to hide it in a drawer cause that thing wouldn’t turn off maybe after 4/5 days it turned off. Definitely worth the money good present for hiking fans or emergencies !

if you aren’t good about keeping fresh batteries handy and periodically checking your flashlights for function, these back-up units are a must in the event of a black-out or disaster.

Wow. It says it only runs for a few hours…but I tried it out in early December and if you add water it still lights up 2 months later! I just wish I had found these before Irma turned my home into an island for a week.

Both easily charged, one by electric and one by crank. The crank one lasts a long time with few cranks and will allow you to charge other things like cell phone with USB cord. Helpful in times of no electricity, the electric one automatically comes on if electricity goes out, so you’re not in the dark looking for lights.
